Captain Coot's Steak Rub
Inspired by one of our favorite hunters, Captain Coot's is designed as a salt and pepper replacement for your steaks and game meats on the grill. Venison, bison and ostrich are all meats that appreciate the flavor that the Captain delivers--peppery with a bit of heat. Delmonico steaks or New York strips on the grill are great candidates for pairing with this rub. Sprinkle or coat your meat 4-6 hours in advance of grilling or smoking. The Captain works well on pork and poultry, but remember this guy was built for red meat so go easy with it on the lighter meats. Enjoy!
